With a 2-1 record, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are off to a strong start to the 2024 NFL season. However, their 26-7 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday was a setback. The loss isn’t the only thing that has taken the momentum out of the Buccaneers, given the updates to their injury report featuring wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
The Buccaneers listed a total of 16 players on their injury report Wednesday with the following players limited in practice: Mike Evans (knee), Chris Godwin (neck), Vita Vea (knee), Luke Goedeke (concussion), Tristan Wirfs (knee), Graham Burton (ankle), Bucky Irving (hamstring) and Logan Hall (foot), according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
Hopefully Evans, Godwin and the rest of the injured players can recover quickly and safely.
In three games in 2024, Evans has just 120 yards and two touchdowns on 10 receptions. Godwin, meanwhile, has 253 yards and three touchdowns on 21 receptions. Tampa Bay’s receiving corps could be hit hard by the loss of two veterans, but the team has what it takes to overcome its struggles and continue its strong start to the season.
The Buccaneers know they can’t take the start of the season for granted, and head coach Todd Bowles made that clear when discussing the state of the team ahead of their game against the Broncos.

“This is the most important game for us,” Bowles said Friday before the loss to Denver, per ESPN’s Jenna Laine. “We’ve only played two games. We can’t predict anything. It’s not good enough. We have a lot of work to do.”
Tampa Bay still has some work to do. They will face a strong Philadelphia Eagles team at home in their Week 4 matchup. Hopefully, the Bucs’ injury record will improve by then. Regardless, fans can expect Todd Bowles to have his team ready to play and come away with a win.
