The Las Vegas Raiders will be without wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive lineman Maxx Crosby, two of their best players against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday due to injuries, head coach Antonio Pierce announced Friday.
Adams suffered a hamstring injury Thursday in practice, with Pierce saying it will be largely a day-to-day injury. Crosby is dealing with a significant ankle sprain and missed practice Wednesday and Thursday due to the injury.
Tight end Michael Mayer will also be out for personal reasons.
Sunday will mark the first game Crosby will miss in his career, having played in 86 consecutive games since being drafted by the Raiders in 2019. Crosby has established himself as a key part of the Raiders’ defense, with three sacks and five tackles for loss. far this season.
Adams, meanwhile, has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown so far this season.
During Friday’s conference, Pierce said he didn’t have a timetable for either player other than missing Sunday’s game.
“You’ve got to give these guys week to week, really, day to day. You never know how they react. They’ve been doing this for a long time in their careers,” Pierce said.
