THE New England Patriots received positive news on the offensive line on Friday.
Patriots coach Jerod Mayo said guard Sidy Sow responded well to his return to practice, and he’s officially listed as questionable to play during Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Sow was banged up in the preseason finale against the Washington Commanders in August. Now it looks like he has a chance to make his regular season debut.
Mayo also offered a note on left tackle Demontrey Jacobs, who is a new addition to the team after being released by the Denver Broncos in late August. He had a good tackle review Friday.
“Great man [6-6, 315]. Very coachable. He’s doing a good job throwing his hands,” Maye said, via ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “Are there things to work on? 100 percent. But his mentality and attitude have been excellent. Iām getting better every day.ā
The offensive line is undoubtedly a work in progress.
However, Sow’s eventual return could be a major development. He played well last season, especially in run blocking. Right now, the Patriots need any form of stability on the offensive line, and it appears reinforcements are on the way.
