The Chicago Bears picked up their first win of the 2024-25 NFL season in Week 5. The Bears offense followed a frigid first half, with an efficient second, totaling 264 yards and three touchdowns against the Los Angeles Rams. Second-year wide receiver Tyler Scott expressed his confidence in the growth they are experiencing and will continue to have this season.
“Once we click, we’ll be dangerous,” Scott said on The Sick Podcast with Adam Rank.
Head coach Matt Eberflus’ offense features Caleb Williams, as the No. 1 rookie pick has improved over the past two weeks with 50 completions on 75 throws for 520 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions . It would still take time for the young QB to adjust to the speed of the NFL, but there’s no doubt he’s on the right track after just a few appearances so far.
Wide receivers DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze have started to find a rhythm with Williams, and they will all look to establish a steady connection in the aerial attack moving forward.
Where does Tyler Scott fit into the Bears’ growing offense?
Scott enters Year 2 in Chicago with strong competition for snaps. He had some bright spots in his rookie campaign in 2023, recording 17 catches on 32 targets for 168 yards, while also seeing some solid opportunities in the ground game with seven attempts for 41 yards.

This is going to be tough as the trio led by Moore, Allen and Odunze continues to get comfortable. Although Allen made only his second appearance of the season in Week 4, Scott has yet to be integrated into the program. Instead, it was veterans Velus Jones Jr. and DeAndre Carter who accounted for the rest of the team’s aerial attack.
Scott is a quality playmaker and may soon get more opportunities as Eberflus continues to experiment with this year’s new Bears offense. For now, he’s staying focused on the job and sticking to the offensive ceiling while continuing to work on improving his skills while he waits for his chance.
The Bears look to start a winning streak when they host the Carolina Panthers for a Week 5 NFC matchup at Soldier Field on October 6. It will be interesting to see if they can add to their meager total of three touchdown passes, and Williams can make it two straight games without a turnover. Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
