THE New England Patriots announced they released wide receiver John Jiles from the practice squad on Tuesday.
Jiles was signed to the practice squad last week, as New England looked to add more depth to the roster. So it was a short stay for the former West Florida star.
Jiles had a stellar career at the college level, starting in all 12 games and recording 1,255 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns during his 2023 run at West Florida. He was originally signed by the New York Giants as a free agent in May and then released by the organization in August.

The Patriots have several positions to address, even more than the wide receiver position at this point. They have been ravaged by injuries this season and are desperate to fill holes in their squad.
They will look to get back on track in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins after losing three straight.
