Greg Landry, who played 11 seasons with the Detroit Lions during a 15-year NFL career, has died at the age of 77.
During his NFL career, Landry threw for 16,052 yards and rushed for 2,655 more. He threw 98 touchdown passes and rushed for 21 scores.
His longest career run was a 76-yard quarterback drive in 1970.
Landry was the first quarterback selected in the first round (11th overall) of the 1968 NFL Draft out of the University of Massachusetts, where he was an All-Yankee Conference selection for two seasons.
Following his playing career, Landry served as the Lions’ QB coach in 1995 and 1996.
