Fans storming the pitch after a surprise defeat is a tradition in football, but fans and players can have bad incidents when they cross paths with strong emotions.
This was the case Saturday in Little Rock, Arkansas, when a Razorbacks fanafter the team’s victory over Tennessee, was shoved by a Volunteers player as they attempted to leave the field.
A fan in the stands posted a video after the match, which captured the moment when a Tennessee playerwho appeared to be number 21 Omari Thomas, pushed a fan trying to get through the Volunteers scrum.

Thomas’ actions also caused the fan to crash into a woman standing in front of them, as they both fell violently to the ground.
Thomas appeared to say something to the fans, as a teammate and coach led him back into the huddle to leave the field.

Since the clip went viral, fans have tagged the Tennessee football account, head coach Josh Heupel and even SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey because they want consequences for Thomas’ actions.
While some fans cause these scenarios, Tennessee is well aware of what happens when a player acts out physically, as its fans rushed the field last season after beating the Alabama Crimson Tide at home.
Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton was seen assaulting a Tennessee fan as he left the field in Knoxville, although former head coach Nick Saban did not suspend him, saying that Burton had “scared” at the time. Saban added that reporters didn’t have “the whole story” about Burton’s situation.
However, this does not appear to be a moment where Thomas was scared as he returned with his team to the locker room.
There has been no word on possible discipline for Thomas following this incident, but it is another reminder that, while it is a tradition, fans storming the field can lead to situations like this -this.
