What do you think Packers receiver Jayden Reed doing in Green Bay while not catching Jordan Love’s touchdown passes in front of 77,000 people at Lambeau Field?
Not much, according to him.
“Really bro, I’m just on the game. There’s nothing else to do,” Reed said when he joined the “St. Brown Podcast“The show is hosted by brothers and NFL players Equanimeous St. Brown, former Packers wide receiver now with the New Orleans Saints, and Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions receiver.
When asked how he spends his free time in Green Bay, Reed said he usually plays video games, hangs out with his girlfriend, watches movies, and sometimes goes to the movies. He also revealed that he has never been to any of the Oneida casinos in the area.
During the podcast, Reed shared some things about him that fans may not have known.
He’s a former Bears fan
It may be a no-brainer, but the Chicago native grew up a Bears fan. For obvious reasons, this is no longer the case. When Amon-Ra mentioned that deep down, Reed was still a Bears fan, Reed showed off a game ball he received in the Packers’ win over the Bears. January 7. Reed had four catches for 112 yards in a game where Green Bay clinched a playoff spot.
Green Bay is a place where players decide to settle down
Equanimous said players who move to Green Bay tend to form a relationship once they arrive. “As soon as men move to Green Bay, if they’re single, they find a girlfriend. If they’re in a relationship, they get engaged/married quickly,” he said.
Reed doubled down on that statement. “They’re forcing you to do it, there’s nothing to do here.”
Packers quarterback Jordan Love was used as an example in this theory, as he became engaged to girlfriend Ronika Stone during the offseason.
Jordan Love is the best player Reed has played with
Reed named Love as the best player he played with in his football career.
Amon-Ra said that was a smart response, to which Reed replied, “It’s not even smart, it’s facts.”
During his NFL career, Reed has 91 catches with 11 touchdowns and over 1,200 yards.
He was surprised to be drafted by Green Bay
Reed revealed that he rarely spoke to the Packers during the pre-draft process. “I probably had a meeting with them once on Zoom, and that was it. I was really surprised,” he said.
He said it was a blessing because Green Bay is only three hours from his hometown.
Reed also mentioned that he talked more to his division rival, the Detroit Lions, than any other team during the pre-draft process.
His welcome moment in the championship…
When the Packers faced the Los Angeles Chargers on November 19, 2023 at Lambeau Field, Reed took a hit from linebacker Khalil Mack, who fractured a rib. Reed still scored a touchdown later in the game, but noticed while doing the Lambeau Leap that something wasn’t feeling in his body.
