Two star receivers have already been traded this season after the Las Vegas Raiders dealt Davante Adams to the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns sent Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills.
Both of these moves have given rise to speculation as to whether the Los Angeles Rams might consider trading Cooper Kupp if they continue to lose and he would have a deal if they decide.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Networkteams called the Rams to inquire about Kupp’s availability before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.
Rapoport reported that “many teams” looking for wide receiver help have Kupp on their roster, and that’s understandable. He’s an All-Pro receiver on a team that limped to a 1-4 record, so it’s not outrageous to think the Rams might consider trading him if they don’t believe they can be a championship contender before the trade deadline.
As Rapoport notes, Kupp has a $7.5 million bonus due in March and another $5 million bonus in 2026, which is not guaranteed, so the acquiring team would have to manage those costs.
It probably won’t even be a conversation if the Rams go on a run and win their next three games before the deadline, but Rapoport says “the calls could accelerate” if they lose their next two games against the Raiders and the Vikings.
