Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson will return to the starting lineup Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, and he should have plenty of healthy targets on the field.
Receivers Michael Pittman Jr. (back), Josh Downs (toe) and Alec Pierce (shoulder), each listed as questionable, are expected to play, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter Saturday night.
Pierce is the team’s leading receiver, with 368 yards and three touchdowns. Pittman and Downs are second and third, respectively, having combined for 512 yards and four scores.
Richardson missed the last two games with an oblique injury suffered in Week 4, giving way to veteran Joe Flacco to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans.
Colts coach Shane Steichen decided not to play Richardson last week against Tennessee, saying he was not fully healed. But this week, Richardson took all of the starting reps and was a full participant in practice all three days for the first time since his injury.
“He looked good,” Steichen said. “He was throwing crisp passes, he was just in the pocket, he was coming out, moving it, running a lot. So he looked really good.”
Richardson is trying to find some consistency after missing 15 of 21 regular season games since being drafted fourth overall in 2023.
