What’s the latest with the Chicago Bear?
The Bears concluded their bye week after another impressive win in Week 7. Although it was a bye week for the previous side, it allowed players like Jaquan Brisker, Tyrique Stevenson and Kyler Gordon to get healthy before a big Week 8 showdown against the Washington Commanders. Fortunately, Chicago has good depth in the secondary, as evidenced by their Week 6 win.

Matt Eberflus praises Bears’ defensive back depth amid injuries
But the Bears have been dealing with injuries in the secondary, where Brisker (concussion) and Stevenson (calf) missed Week 7 while Gordon suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of that win over the Jaguars of Jacksonville. With those contributors sidelined, Chicago had key reserves in their place — safety Elijah Hicks and cornerbacks Jaylon Jones and Josh Blackwell. Bears coach Matt Eberflus praised the depth at defensive back and specifically how these players’ experience in this system helped them not miss anything.
