NFL teams send their scouts to college football games throughout the season, and this won’t be the only game this week the Colts have representatives in.
With the help of Mel Kiper early 2025 big picture, the two top prospects in this game are both tight ends in Syracuse’s Oronde Gadsden and Pittsburgh’s Gavin Bartholomew.

Tight end is a big need for the Colts next offseason. Beyond the Colts already not seeing a huge impact from this position group in the passing game this season, Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson will both be free agents.
On top of that, Drew Ogletree will be in the final year of his rookie contract and the status of Jelani Woods remains up in the air. Will Mallory will then still be under contract for two years, but he has only played a very small role so far.
In terms of depth and the need for more playmaking, tight end will be a big priority for the Colts in 2025.
