THE Chicago Bear suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Washington Commanders18-15, where a last-second Hail Mary touchdown set the stage for one of the worst losses in franchise history.
With Chicago coming off a week off, they’re expected to be ready to take on this Washington team – especially after having two weeks to prepare. But, for the third time under Eberflus, the team was unprepared and sloppy at the end of the bye week, where they are now 0-3 under Eberflus.
Jayden Daniels’ improbable touchdown run — and Eberflus’ overall handling of that final drive — was a gut punch for Bears fans.
“When you lose a game like that, it’s hard to swallow,” Eberflus said after the match, although he stuck to the moral victories in his post-match speech, where he brought a positive light on a brutal defeat.
“I think you have to have a strong mind and a strong belief in who you are,” Eberflus said. “It’s a game, isn’t it?” I know when you lose in the last game, it’s going to hurt, right? But let’s go back and watch the tape and then we’ll get better. This is what we always do. That’s what we’re going to do here.
With Eberflus failing to take responsibility – again – and another heartbreaking, avoidable loss to add to his collection, Bears fans have made it clear that their patience with Eberflus is wearing thin – and some are even calling for his work.
Bears fans are fed up with Matt Eberflus after latest loss
I have said it many times: Eberflus should have been fired after last season.
There are consequences to maintaining incompetence: it breeds more incompetence. This incompetent HC hires an incompetent OC, and now we have TWO problems AND no O-line.
But he’s a nice guy.

Eberflus’ lack of accountability will always bother me.
The blame is always placed on the execution and the players, instead of the coach, who make stupid decisions.

The only times Matt Eberflus’ Bears have been the more prepared team have been against bottom-of-the-barrel trades. Panthers, Doug Pederson Jaguars, Arthur Smith Falcons, etc.
Every time they take a class, it seems like no one has any idea what’s going on.
Ben Johnson please

The time of “ #Bear played tight against a good team, it bodes well for the future” is over.
This team is built to be a playoff contender NOW. There is no longer any moral victory you get from these losses. It’s time to put up or shut up, especially for Matt Eberflus.

When George McCaskey fired Matt Nagy, he said something like, “We were making the same mistakes at the end of the season as we were at the beginning.” He might feel the same way about Matt Eberflus’ coaching career, which spanned 41 games in Chicago.

Coach Eberflus
– Why are you rushing at three
– Why is there a spy backer with no threat of QB execution
– Why is 98 left on the sidelines

Can we just demote Matt Eberflus to DC? Because he is in way over his head as HC.

If the two things we learn about the Bears this year are that Caleb Williams is good and Matt Eberflus is not, so be it.
The rubber needs to hit the road with this head coach.

This was the time Matt Eberflus should be fired. This happens at least twice a year when he calls the zone way too deep late in games and lets them run 20-yard routes until they get within field goal range. The team comes into every game unprepared. Why was there no one…

Caleb Williams played like crap for three quarters, then led not one, but two game-winning TDs in the fourth quarter on the road. Both were stolen from him by terrible coaching decisions.
I have more confidence in him during half a rookie season than in three years…

This match was enough to fire Matt Eberflus and Shane Waldron.
Disgusting.

If the Bears don’t make a big move and start beating good teams.
The late Matt Eberflus.
Make Waldron the interim head coach.
(Just to give Caleb Williams some consistency to finish the year)Leave it to Eric Washington to call defensive plays and see how he does with his hearing.
If…

to recap, after a heroic effort from his defense and a courageous finish from his QB, Matt Eberflus:
— let WAS have 15 free meters
— I had a QB spy on a Hail Mary
— didn’t put more tall players on the field
— kept the 3 downtimes instead of preaching the key principles (person behind)– Robert (@RobertZeglinski) October 28, 2024
Matt Eberflus always has a game that reminds me why I don’t like him and why I want him fired
