The Bears suffered a brutal defeat against the Washington Commanders18-15, where the victory was stolen from them on an improbable Hail Mary touchdown from quarterback Jayden Daniels. While Chicago’s offense struggled for most of the game, it mounted a late comeback in the fourth quarter and looked poised to escape with a victory after a last-minute touchdown run. But then a mishandled final drive, during which Daniels threw a Hail Mary that was tipped by cornerback Tyrique Stevenson into the waiting hands of wide receiver Noah Brown, served as a dagger to the hearts of Washington fans. Tyrique Stevenson Apologizes to Bears Teammates, Explains His Actions in Commanders’ Loss
Following the defeat and heavy media criticism of him, Stevenson spoke with the team on Monday and apologized to his teammates and Eberflus praised him for taking responsibility. “It was a really good moment for him to be able to do that, to show responsibility and accountability,” Eberflus said.

Cole Kmet rips Bears for lack of respect for football in Week 8 loss
Speaking to the media on Monday, Kmet made a very concerning comment about the team’s focus on defending the Hail Mary, saying it now serves as an example of how they can learn to respect the game of football. Not only does it serve as a time to respect the game, but Kmet said it should also be an opportunity for the team to learn to respect practice.
