Jayden Daniels was feeling good after a miraculous Hail Mary to give the Washington Commanders a victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Daniels, who threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Noah Brown as time expired, celebrated with his teammates and coaches before letting fans know how he felt.
“I’m like that,” Daniels said.
Daniels’ hit Hail Mary is already a candidate for play of the year. The rookie quarterback rushed for nearly 13 seconds before throwing the ball toward the end zone. After being alerted by a Bears defender, Brown attacked him.
Daniels finished Sunday’s game with 326 passing yards and a touchdown along with 52 rushing yards, continuing what has been an outstanding start to his career.
The No. 2 overall pick has 1,736 passing yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions along with 424 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in eight games, although he only played a few snaps against the Panthers from Carolina last week.
His solid play made him an early favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Additionally, Daniels and the Commanders win games. Washington is 6-2 for the first time since 2008 after Sunday’s win and has already eclipsed its win total from a year ago.
Behind Daniels’ phenomenal rookie year, the Commanders appear well on their way to their first playoff appearance since 2020.
