Garrett Wilson scored two spectacular touchdowns as the New York Jets ended their five-game losing streak with a 21-13 win over the Houston Texans.
Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was also influential, completing 22 of 32 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns as the Jets won for the first time since September.
It was also the Jets’ first win under interim coach Jeff Ulbrich, and placed them second in the AFC East.
The highlight was two acrobatic one-handed catches by Wilson in the third and fourth quarters.
His first catch early in the third quarter tied the scores. The second was even more impressive, with Wilson leaping with his legs apart to meet Rodgers’ 26-yard pass in the back of the end zone.
It was initially ruled an incomplete pass because Wilson did not lower both feet in the end zone, but the ruling was overturned after a video review.
New York trailed 7-0 at halftime after a slow opening. Rodgers completed just seven of 14 pass attempts for 32 yards – a career-low in the first half.
Rookie receiver Malachi Corley was also ruled out for a touchdown after a video review showed his premature celebration led to him dropping the ball short of the goal line.
Joe Mixon scored the only touchdown in response for the Texans, who remain at the top of the AFC South despite a third loss of the season.
