THE Las Vegas Raiders announced early Monday morning that they fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello following Sunday’s NFL Week 9 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.
All three were in their first season with the team, which fell to 2-7 with its fifth straight loss.
Former Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback Desmond Ridder, signed last month by the Raiders to the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad, replaced Gardner Minshew starter during the second half of Sunday. Ridder threw a touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter, his first with the team.
Sunday’s game featured longtime Bengals head coach Marvin Lewisnow assistant head coach of the Raiders, back in Cincinnati. Lewis, the winningest head coach in Bengals history, last faced the Bengals in Cincinnati in 2001, as defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens.
