THE Chicago Bear trade running back Khalil Herbert for Cincinnati Bengalsaccording to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The Bears will receive a seventh-round pick from the Bengals in 2025 in exchange for Herbert.
Herbert is in the final year of his rookie contract, and he’s been healthy over the past two games as the Bears roll with a 1-2 punch of D’Andre Swift and guard short distance Roschon Johnson. Herbert has been an effective runner for Chicago for four years, but he just doesn’t seem to play a role in this offense.
It’s a logical move considering the Bears weren’t likely to re-sign him this offseason, and now general manager Ryan Poles is getting a late-round pick in return.
More to come.
