The 2024 NFL trade deadline is almost here, with less than 10 hours left. The Carolina Panthers have already made headlines by trading Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens, but they are still reportedly getting calls from several different players, including quarterback Bryce Young. Given that head coach Dave Canales has refused to commit to Young as a starter even for this upcoming week’s game, we can’t rule out the possibility that Young is traded before the end of the day.
However, the player who seems most likely to be dealt is veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen. Although he’s been in the league for a while (11 years, 155 games), Thielen proved he still has enough to make a difference earlier this season.
Recent reports indicate the Steelers have been in contact about Thielen as they look for help behind George Pickens. Here’s what Thielen had to say about the lingering trade rumors in the locker room yesterday.
Adam Thielen says he’s focused on his health and not the trade deadline. “That’s why you have an agent and a GM”
Thielen says he likes the Panthers and thinks they want him to stay, but he also knows it’s not like he has 10 years left in him.

That’s not the case, but even if he only had 10 games left, a game-clinching catch from Thielen could be the difference between an early exit from the playoffs and a deep playoff run for a team like Pittsburgh, currently 6-2 and first place in the rankings. AFC North.
In total, Thielen has 645 career catches, 7,805 receiving yards and 60 touchdowns. The most recent score came in Week 3 when he caught a deep ball from Andy Dalton against the Raiders. Thielen injured his hamstring during the game and has been on IR since. However, he should return to the field soon – for this team or another.
