Three WCS student-athletes are in the running for the 2024 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Award.
Brenden Anes of Page High, Eric Hazzard of Page High and Donovan Starr of Ravenwood High were named Mr. Football semifinalists on November 7.
“Brenden and Eric are both everything you want in a high school athlete and more,” PHS football coach Charles Rathbone said. “They are leaders on and off the field in all aspects of the world. They are semi-finalists because they have worked in all facets of the game.”
Brenden and Eric are in Class 5A and Donovan is in Class 6A. The award honors the top student-athlete in each class as well as the top kicker.
“Donovan is an amazing athlete,” RHS coach Will Hester said. “His ability to run and jump is elite. He has played a huge role in the success of our season so far. We are proud of his selection as a Mr. Football semifinalist for Class 6A.
The selection process begins with nominations of coaches and media members. Semifinalists are then chosen by a committee of statewide sports editors based on each student’s performance during the 2024 season, academics and character.
Finalists will be announced on November 26 and winners on December 10. Finalists and their families will attend the awards luncheon at Nissan Stadium.
