Jaguar Starting wide receiver Gabe Davis reportedly suffered a torn meniscus during Jacksonville’s 52-6 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 11, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. reported Monday.
Davis is expected to undergo surgery to treat the injury, according to Rapoport, although it is currently unclear whether a partial or full repair will be necessary. The first would leave the door open for Davis to return this season; the latter would probably end his campaign.
Davis signed a three-year, $39 million free agent contract with the Jaguars this offseason after spending the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills.
He suffered nagging knee and shoulder injuries during his first season with the Jaguars, missing only one game but being out multiple times in Week 11.
Davis recorded 20 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns with Jacksonville, bringing his career totals to 163 catches for 2,730 yards and 27 touchdowns.
