As much as Washington commanders could try to overcome it, the loss of Jonathan Allen could be a major problem for the franchise next season.
Whoever could force them to make uncomfortable conversations in the future.
Allen has once associated Daron Payne to create one of the best duos of defensive plates in the league for the best of the last decade. Now that he is released, Washington should count on the second -year defensive platform Jer’zhan Newton to take the reins of this role.
Of course, if Payne is not up to work, they could simply try to write another player at the post again.
In the latest simulated project of NFL.com with Chad Reuter, the commanders eventually come back to the defensive line position as soon as possible in the first round with the selection of Mike Green de Marshall.
“The head coach Dan Quinn takes a hit on Green’s speed at the end of the first round,” said Reuter. “He would be a designated pass rusher as a recruit but could complete his game to become a starter fairly quickly.”
Green (6-3, 250) is one of the high breeders of this current draft course thanks to a dominant senior bowl and combination performance.

There is only one problem (apart from rumors of “characters’ problems”) …
With the way in which Green dominates was in the pre-project process, it is unlikely that it will be available with the 28th choice in total. And that alone could prevent Washington from getting a better player.
We have a month before it happened. And Washington will have a lot of chance of going up to always get “their guys” in the process.
