Nashville, tenn. (AP) – Titans of Tennessee Signed the six -year -old veteran Joey Slye as a new kicker, choosing not to bring Nick Folk, 40, for a third season.
The Titans announced the agreement on Monday.
Slye has large shoes to fill Popular By leading the NFL in the percentage of goals on the ground in each of the last two seasons, which makes 96.7% of its kicks in 2023 and 95.5% in 2024. But folk, which will be 41 years old in November, missed three games while the Titans went 3-14 last season.
Slye is 29 years old on April 10. After playing Virginia Tech, Slye started in the NFL in 2019 with the Carolina Panthers. In 2021, he launched three different teams from three games for Houston’s Texans, three others with San Francisco and Six with Washington. He experienced a goal in the field of 63 yards for a long time last season for New England and a 61 yards in 2023 for Washington.
He made 81.7% of his attempts at the field for his career. Slye made 26 of his 41 attempts from 50 yards and outside last season, missing only one point attempt. Folk played 15 seasons with five teams.
Titans have already changed bettors, signing a 17 -year -old veteran and Professional fourth pro Johnny Hekker For Ryan Stonehouse, a former unrelated free agent who has shot the two main averages of raw shares in one season in the history of the NFL. Stonehouse was also the first with an average of 52.2 yards between 2022-24. Bring Hekker brings him together with New coordinator of special John Fassel teams.
Tennessee also claimed the second Curtis Jacobs off the derogations of New England.
