The Los Angeles loaders did not do much to tackle their infection in difficulty this offseason. Yes, they have signed Mike Williams, but it has not been really productive since 2022.
So what can the charge do to help Justin Herbert outside the expectation of the NFL draft?
Well, the general consensus is that Los Angeles will end up ending up with Keenan Allen, who spent the first 11 years of his career with the Bols before connecting to the Chicago Bears in 2024.
Allen may not be the same receiver that he was in the past, but he still managed to record 70 catches for 744 yards and seven affected last season, and he has only two years of transport in 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and seven scores.
Ergo, the 32 -year -old man would represent a good collection for the loaders, in particular given the familiarity of Herbert with him.
However, the Los Angeles path to an Allen meeting could be a little more complicated. For what? Because colleague Stefon Diggs has just signed an agreement of $ 69 million over three years with the New England Patriots.
The Diggs agreement has only $ 26 million in guaranteed money, but this is even more than most of the expected DIGGs – which comes out of a torn ACL – to land, so it can have increased the price for Allen, which is only one year more than Diggs and could actually be a safer choice for 2024.
Allen doesn’t have exactly impeccable health record, because he hasn’t played full season since 2019, but he doesn’t recover from a serious injury like Diggs, and Allen was actually better than Diggs in 2023.
Does that mean that Allen will break the bank? No, and the charges have the cap room to absorb it anyway, but Allen may certainly have changed its standards by seeing the Diggs contract received from the patriots.
Managing Director Joe Hortiz clearly does not like spending money on veterans. It is clearly obvious that he prefers to build by the draft of the NFL, a bit like he did during his time as a frame of the Baltimore Ravens. It could therefore potentially make a corner between and Allen.
Based on the fact that Allen has not yet signed, he probably wants to return to Los Angeles. He said to himself in winter that his preference was to stay in Chicago or return to Hollywood, and with the Rams having already signed Davante Adams, this leaves an option.
In the end, the charges and Allen could very well reach an agreement, but it may not be as simple as it would have been before Diggs was paid.
