The staff of Detroit Lions coaches certainly noticed how the new defensive platform Roy Lopez was able to perform against one of the best centers of the National Football League.
Last season, Detroit was able to defeat the cardinals, 20-13, in week 3 of the regular season.
Dan Campbell expressed that the 27 -year -old was noticeable during the revision of the game film, while Detroit led football at a high pace and that the last defensive tackle of the team was often around football.
With Alim McNeill probably unavailable at the start of the 2025 season, Detroit’s defense will count on Lopez and DJ Reader to be stout against the race.
“It is a low and dirty (player) – does not mean that he cannot play third, but he lives a lot at the base. He faces the double teams, he holds people out of the supporters,” said Campbell about Lopez. “It can have an advantage over you, and it will just take time, time in, exit time, again, again and again.
The Fifth Year of Detroit’s head coach expressed that he wanted the basic defense food to be stoured against the race to continue this next season.
For Lopez, he was able to obtain an additional $ 477,528.78 from cardinals in the form of a performance -based bonus for his game during his second season with the NFC West Squad.
In 2024, Lopez recorded a bag, three passes defended, four plated for defeat, a forced escape and three strokes in 16 games.
