It was not an easy decision for Jonathan Allen to leave Washington commanders after eight seasons with the franchise. Especially because, finally, they had a great culture within the organization difficult to reproduce.
A positive team culture was a prerequisite for Allen, no matter where he ended up signing. He did not want to go to a team where the guys collected pay checks. What stood out from the Vikings of Minnesota was the well -established culture under the coach Kevin O’Connell, and how the organization from top to bottom has clearly made a strong culture.
“I cannot say enough how great culture has been, how they treat their families how they treat players,” said Allen Green light Podcast with Chris Long, an old defensive end that spent 11 seasons in the NFL.
It does not hurt either that Vikings installations in TCO Performance Center in Eagan, Minnesota, are among the best in the League, and the fact that the environment of the US Bank stadium in Minneapolis is memorable for visiting opponents.
“I have the impression of having cheated on my last eight years,” said Allen about his first impression of Minnesota installations.
Among things, Allen is waiting impatiently during his first season with the Vikings play alongside another defensive tackle that the team signed in free agency, Javon Hargrave, great respect has developed great respect for throughout his career in the NFL. It is quite excited to play alongside the rushers on board Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel too. It will be quite the front.
Allen is certainly an addition of impact to the Vikings list. During his eight seasons in Washington, Allen accumulated 401 plated in total, 42 bags, five defended passes, two forced escapes, two escaped recovery and interception.
There is no doubt that he will make impact games in purple when the season will also start this fall.
