Cincinnati – Could Bengals still exchange the defensive side of Star Trey Hendrickson?
After giving the authorization of all the pro to seek a trade last month, Cincinnati not only chose to keep the quinier in the grid four times, but they hope to sign it for a long -term extension.
Although this can always be the case, NFL Insider Tony Pauline hears rumors About the Bengals that perhaps exchange Hendrickson if they can win a rusher on board in the first round of the NFL 2025 draft.
“The overwhelming feeling of the League is that the Bengals of Cincinnati, which have the 17th choice, will determine if there is a race on the on -board rushers during the second half of Tour 1”. Pauline wrote. “If the Bengals take a rusher on board, the valves should open, and at least seven, or perhaps eight, will be written before the end of the first day. And this can also create a situation where the teams can try to negotiate from the bottom of the first round to expect what they acquire a rusher from Pass.
If there is a race on Edge Rushers, Hendrickson could be included.
“Many tell me that the Bengals will do exactly that. Take a rusher on board with the 17th choice, then exchange Trey Hendrickson on the replay weekend or shortly after the seven rounds finished,” wrote Pauline.
Hendrickson led the NFL with 17.5 bags last season. He is in the last year of his contract and should make $ 16 million in base salary. He wants a long -term contract that offers security (guaranteed money) and several years.
If the Bengals think they have come to the point of not going back with Hendrickson, they perhaps plan to exchange it on the evening of the draft, but all the indications point to Cincinnati trying to conclude an agreement with their rusher of Star Pass.
It would also not make sense for Bengals to exchange Hendrickson after the draft, unless it is a player-player agreement. The draft of the NFL 2025 is essentially an artificial deadline. Bengals will want choices in this year’s draft if they decide to move Hendrickson.
