Fox 2 – Thousands of intimate photos and videos have been seized with a former assistant football coach of Baltimore Ravens and the University of Michigan by investigators.
Matt Weiss is accused of hacking the computer stories of university athletes, said the United States Ministry of Justice.
Tuesday’s disclosure came to a judicial file against Weiss and the university. Victims’ lawyers included an e-mail sent by the government after Weiss’s indictment.
Investigators say that Weiss had access to social media, emails and cloud storage accounts of more than 2,000 athletes and more than 1,300 students or former students of the United States, for private images, mainly women, said the indictment.
The email describes and quantifies what was found by the investigators.
“Thousands of candid and intimate photographs and videos have been seized of the accused’s electronic devices and his storage accounts in the cloud. Many show naked victims. Some show victims engaged in explicit sexual acts,” said the mega victims’ assistance program.
Weiss pleaded not guilty of identity theft and access to unauthorized computer, from 2015 to 2023. He and his lawyer refused to comment on the case.
During the end of the allegations, Weiss was the co-offensive coordinator of Michigan in 2022 when the Wolverines finished 13-1 and played in the playoffs of university football. He was dismissed in 2023 during an investigation into the use of his computer.
Weiss had spent more than a decade with the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL.
Los Angeles load coach Jim Harbaugh, who was Michigan’s head coach when Weiss was there, called “shocking” allegations. His brother, John Harbaugh, Ravens coach, used the same word when he spoke to journalists at the annual NFL spring meeting.
Parker Stinar, a lawyer who has brought one of the many proceedings against Weiss, the university and an external technology seller, wishes that a judge orders him to start giving evidence of what happened. The university did not comment on the prosecution and has weeks to officially answer to the Federal Court.
