Nashville Changers Game Changers is officially here.
The new Fox 17 podcast made its debut on April 9, and the very first guest is someone who represents exactly what it means to be a “game changer” here in Nashville.
In the first episode, the Titans’ defensive line player, Jeffery Simmons, catches up with the sports director of Fox 17 and animates Jill Jelnick about his offseason, the next NFL season and his impact on the city.
Simmons is a triple professional quarter and enters its seventh season with the Tennessee titans. When he is not busy dismissing opposing quarters, Simmons spends his time restoring the Nashville community.
He was selected as candidate of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year team for the second consecutive year, an honor that recognizes an NFL player for excellence on and off the field. Simmons is strongly involved with youth organizations in Nashivlle, including its own foundation Give them a reason, which serves others through the empowerment of young people and opportunities for strengthening self -esteem.
Simmons is also the Nashville spokesperson Rally on the trackAn annual charitable event that helps collect funds for children fighting cancer and cancer research. This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, April 10 and hopes to exceed their previous objective of collecting $ 475,000.
“This is the event that I look forward to each off -season,” explains Simmons. “The rally on the track is an incredible event that collects funds and awareness of the child’s cancer. This is what I want to be part of.”
Throughout the episode, Simmons also opens the 2024 NFL season, including the biggest challenges for the team and the change of coach.
“The most important thing was to try to understand this new culture that we are trying to build,” said Simmons. “Even with me and coach Callahan, we had a big conversation at the end of the season on how things can improve as a team. He is one of the guys who wants to be a good coach in this league and I can see that happening.”
Simmons trained this offseason in Dallas. And recently met his teammate, the titans offensive line player JC Latham, who spared a local gymnasium in Dallas. Simmons admitted to the podcast, he made sure to avoid him in the ring.
“I’m going to work, but I’m not doing this fighting thing. JC was there against someone against the cowboys, he has as well.”
Simmons also discusses the draft of the NFL, the next season of the NFL and its excitement for the Nashville Changers Game Changers podcast.
“I want successful years to come on this podcast,” says Simmons. “The more my guys and teammates can enter the community, who knows how many people we can affect.”
