Arizona cardinals must address the position of the Rusher Edge at a given time, preferably as soon as possible in the next draft of the NFL 2025. There is no shortage of talent in this class with guys who look, play and produce differently from the others.
The class presents itself in all the different forms, shapes and sizes in the best way. Obviously, this means that some are better suited to one team than another.
How do they compare each other to each other?
To clarify, I would like one of these five cardinals to be cardinals – but as we go from five to one, you will see some of these guys are more exciting than others.
Williams as a perspective is incredibly exciting. He has a lot of sport and potential that flashed throughout his stay with Georgia. Over several years, Kirby Smart has developed defensive talents, Williams is one of the most intriguing players he has trained.
The only problem? Williams has had trouble with health in the past two seasons. He underwent a feet operation before the 2023 season and last year was playing an ankle problem. Williams may not have missed a lot of time in terms of games, but it was clearly not 100% in one or the other of the seasons.
A healthy Williams, however, is a clay ball that could be curly in a star.
I believe in this coach staff of cardinals to train defensive talents and make the most of them. A player like Williams can be a challenge, but it is the one for which I think they are up to par.
His talent also comes with a diagram, a versatility to get up and play with one hand in dirt. He would be incredibly fun for Arizona, but they should work before they can get the most out of him.
It was quite the ascent for Ezeiruaku, which continues to hover the dashboard and could be on a collision trajectory with the first 15 choices of the draft. A combination of production and sports tests has led to its dramatic climb and it has excited teams for what it can become.
Ezeiruaku had a production somewhat from top to bottom during his stay with the Eagles, but his senior season of 16.5 bags showed what we hope that everything met for him. There were also many things exposed to excite you on its potential. The rush sets towards the passes of Ezeiruaku present an excellent use of the hand to disengage with the blockers coupled with relaxed athletics. His long arms of 34 “can prevent most of the lines of him and blend perfectly with his speed and agility.
Having boxes to check in the athletics department that you cannot change – you were born with or without him – is already a dynamite advantage for Ezeiruaku to help him stand out from his peers. But its senior explosive production can be a sign of things to come.
Arizona would love to add a player like him to use full -time rusher and patiently develop the rest of his skills. There is an excellent opportunity for Ezeiruaku to find early production in his career with staff who can pass his game to the next level.
Walker has been considered a perfect target for cardinals for some time now.
The points between Walker and Arizona are easy to do. Walker is a very unique and versatile defender who went from the second to a high level pass rusher during his stay in Athens. Once the Bulldogs began to give him chances as a rusher on board, it seemed that the future of Walker was made.
But that does not mean that Walker suddenly forgot how to play the secondary and perform his functions. He simply adds more skills to a stored curriculum vitae. This makes him even more attractive for a defense of cardinals who prides himself on versatile playmakers.
Walker in the desert would be a dream come true, perhaps even a prophecy made as the elected official to repair the hole of the rusher on board.
For what it is worth, I buy Walker’s media threw being a choice among the 10, so cardinals may not even shoot him. But if they did it? Home Run, Slam Dunk, Touchdown Pass.
I give Sawyer a slight advantage (without puns) on Walker here only because he passed Four Seasons to play the defender Edge, while Walker learns and always adapts to the role. I have almost no questions about Sawyer while he is preparing to jump into the pros.
The Buckeye star has regularly improved its match every season that passes. His game in the OHIO State CFP championship race was indicative of his fence on the potential that had done him as one of the best rated recruits out of the school. He simply feels that Sawyer improves with each game he plays.
Sawyer is completely the specimen at 6’4 and 260 lb with a revolutionary force and a punch out of the line that would send the average person through a wall like a cartoon character. He is also an advanced athlete, although he does not obtain the credit he deserves in this department … It is beyond me.
But what I know with certainty is that Sawyer is a manufacturer of difference at the next level and a team would be wise to capitalize on its irresponsible value of day two to add to their team. Sawyer checks a lot of boxes for what these staff are looking for and he will gently pass a transition to the next level.
Maybe this takes place like his university career, where he needs time to adapt, but I guarantee that when he arrives … he will be a star.
One of the most popular and most spoken prospects of perspectives for cardinals has become my favorite adjustment for the team by the tip.
Green is undoubtedly the most productive defender of all in this project class and we only scrape the surface of its potential. The Marshall product exploded for 17 bags last season while displaying the absurd quantity of pure athletics with which few others accumulate. There is already so available at his disposal with high speed and violent hands to make him a powerful rusher.
We can also see that Green has also started loading his toolbox for past rush movements. He will come to the pros knowing how to use his hands and bend / flex his body to keep his pads clean and oppose the lines of lines that find it difficult to follow.
Once these coache staff got their hands on green, we could see him realize his ceiling for the potential. He should enter the 2025 season as one of the heavy favorites to win the defensive recruit of the year.
