The former Patriots of New England, Don Hasselbeck, died, according to his son.
The former quarter of the NFL Matt Hasselbeck Makes the announcement on social networks.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the death of our father, Don Hasselbeck, who suffered a cardiac arrest and died today,” wrote Matt. “We would like to thank the neighbors of our parents and all the health professionals who came to their help. He was a big husband, father, grandfather, friend, coach, player, colleague, artist, mentor and storyteller. ”

Don Hasselbeck was selected by the New England Patriots in the second round of the 1977 NFL draft.
He was in Foxborough the first six seasons of his nine -year career. He also spent time with Los Angeles Giants, Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants before retiring in 1985.
Hasselbeck won a super bowl with the raiders in 1983. During his stay in New England, Hasselbeck captured 98 passes for 1437 yards and 15 affected.
He grew up in Ohio and settled in Massachusetts where his sons Matt, Tim and Nathanael have become stars.
Matt and Tim went to the Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood while Nathanael attended Bridgon Academy in Maine.

All three played football at Boston College.
“Despite being an All-American in Colorado and a Super Bowl champion with the Raiders, what we are most proud of is the leader he was for our family,” Matt wrote about his father, who was 70 years old. “He helped put our feet on a solid floor … There is a 6′7 hole” in our hearts. We will miss so many people. “”
