Houston’s Texans definitely have major holes to fill before the NFL recovery, and no weakness is more important than that of their offensive line.
The Texans had one of the worst offensive football lines last season, while Houston granted 54 bags. He then subtracted three runners during the offseason, including the platform of the Prorennial Pro Bowl Laremy Tunsil.
Unsurprisingly, the Texans should tackle their gaping hole in the trenches during the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday, but they may also want to explore certain veteran professions to try to fill these shortcomings.
Chris Schad of House of Houston has linked Houston to a rather interesting player, appointing the Saints of New Orleans who attack Trevor Penning as potential commercial target for Texans following the decision of the Saints not to exercise the fifth year option of Penning.
“The Texans could appear on the list while their offensive line makeover continues”, ” Schad wrote. “Houston signed Cam Robinson as a free agency to replace Tunsil in the left tackle, but the position of the right tackle is undecided with a second round choice in 2024, Blake Fisher should be filled. Exchanging for the editorial staff to take this place could allow Houston to take an offensive guard such as the solidification of Tyler Booker from Alabama.”
Penning was initially selected by New Orleans with the 19th choice in total of the NFL 2022 draft, but it did not really materialize. Last year, for example, he posted an overall note rather than 60.2 to Pro Football Focus.
The 25 -year -old has a manageable blow of only $ 4.5 million next season, so he could certainly understand a possible business option for the Texans if they are unable to get a tackle in the first two cycles of the draft.
