THE Indianapolis colts have been active in a free agency, showing that general manager Chris Ballard does not disconnect in his ninth season. While the corner half (Ward of Charvarius) and safety (Camryn bynum) are stronger, as well as other signatures in other places, the tight end is always a blatant need.
Professional football focus nailed Two project options on days one and three For the colts and believes that the tight end is the greatest need for the Circle City team. For the first day, it is not surprising that Tyler Warren by Penn State is the answer.
Jordan Plocher had this to say on Warren: “The colts could use the help at a tight end to support the development of the young quarter-Arrière Anthony Richardson. Warren is a versatile playmaker and the first tight end of this year’s class.”
Warren’s statistics in 2024 are crazy for 16 games at the college level, hanging 104 assists for 1,233 reception yards and eight touchdown receptions. It was also a factor in the race game with 218 yards on the ground and four other scores. Warren is also a solid blocker, and although it is not the sexiest quality, it is essential for a TE1.
Tyler Warren is so versatile, the ability to create with the ball in his hands is unparalleled. His speed and vision associated with a physical style are so impressive. pic.twitter.com/rzuhu65j98

As for the third day, Harold Fannin Jr. Bowling Green was chosen here. Fannin did not impress the senior Bowl or the NFL combined as he probably wanted, but he offers a solid option to a team needing a tight side as a movement.
Fannin had showy numbers for Falcons in 2024, carrying 117 caught for 1,555 reception yards, 13.3 yards per hic and 10 affected. In short, Fannin can make things happen as a pure speaker carrier.
Harold Fannin Jr. is the most productive Te in the history of the NCAA, displaying 1,555 yards and 10 affected in 2024.
At an impressive 2.2% career drop rate and caught 54.5% of the balls contested in 2024, and escaped 33 (!!) plated.

Fannin’s draft stock has dropped, but it can always adapt to the right offensive program and have an impact, helping a quarter-Arrière like a Anthony Richardson with easy targets. The problems with Fannin are his somewhat rigid routes and the need to be placed in the slit.
Here is what Plocher had on Fannin for his room: “Fannin is another intriguing option – a dynamic reception threat which delivered a legendary season 2024, leading all the tight ends in the reception (96.4), the Yards (1555) and the Touches (10).”
Fannin is not a resounding blocker, being generally smaller for a tight end typical of the NFL. To cut right in pursuit, Indianapolis is better to try to get a tight end like Warren, Colston Loveland or Mason Thomas.
Fannin’s selection will remove the tasks of the location Josh DownsWho led the team in captures in 2024 with 72 despite the trembling and inconsistent QB game of Richardson and Joe Flacco. This is not something Shane Steichen will want, given what extent Downs played the game after the match.
Expect that the colts write a tight end, but not the third day. Indianapolis cannot short-circuit this group after the whole room caught a pathetic of 39 assists in 2024. Time for a real weapon at the post is now, and it will come to the previous rounds, or if it works, the first with Warren holding a jersey of the colts.
