Despite his exceptional game since he was named Quart-Arrière starting from the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay two years ago (which included two consecutive titles of the southern NFC division), Baker Mayfield is still not able to gain respect for all his skeptics.

Gregg Rosenthal de NFL.com showed its aversion to Mayfield as a quarter-arre before, including last year when he ranked Mayfield below Jacoby Brissett on his ranking of current NFL quarters.
Apparently, launching 4,500 yards and 41 TD (the two top 3 of the league) while completing 70% of its passes in 2024 was not sufficient to influence Rosenthal’s opinion on the fiery quarter of the Bucs.

During a recent episode of his podcast, NFL Daily, Rosenthal offered a scathing opinion from Mayfield as a quarter of the Bucs.
“If [the Buccaneers] Had a slightly better quarter, I think they would be in the inner circle of the Super Bowl contenders, “said Rosenthal.
Rosenthal has not exactly retained either when his hot taking was questioned: “It is not hatred; it is great … I think they would be in the inner circle of the favorites of the Super Bowl if, like, Justin Herbert was their quarter.”
Yikes.
After a few tumultuous seasons after being chased from Cleveland, the ascent of Baker Mayfield as a quarter of the Buccaneers was one of the best stories in the League.
When you consider Mayfield’s performance in the past two seasons, the success of the BUCs as a team with him at the helm and the support he has obtained from his teammates and coaches along the way, it becomes clear that in spite of the occasional critic, those who see it working during the day.
