Everything well considered, the quarterrier of the Chicago Bears Caleb Williams had a fairly remarkable recruit season in 2024. He launched for 3,541 yards and 20 affected despite his players behind the most devil’s offensive line in the NFL and under the supervision of the worst staff of the League.
Not to mention the fact that Williams did not have a veteran quarterrier on which relying as the times had become hard. Only Tyson Bagent, a second -year -old player in his own right, joined him in the QB room.
It was a professional fault of the list of GM Ryan posts and the front office of the Bears, but they learned from their error. Now, with Williams entering the 2nd year with an offensive reconstruction line and a brilliant head coach, he also obtains a legitimate mentor to whom he can trust: Keenum case.
Keenum has signed a one-year agreement with the Bears this month and should play the role of coach player for Williams. It is a task that he is delighted to present himself.
“I looked at all Caleb and I was blown away by all the skills”, ” Keenum said via the Bears team website. “I did not know him personally, but guy, looking at some of the throws and things he is capable of doing in the matches he is able to win and play that he is able to do, it is like” Oh my God, he has everything you might want in a quarter of the NFL. “”
With a veteran like Keenum embracing the QB3 role – and understanding how important it is – Williams is one more to be unlocked.
“I know where I am in my career and what I can bring to a team,” said Keenum. “For me, a large part is not only on the ground. I always feel like I have a lot of juice and that I can play at a high level, but these are also out of the field you do during the off -season training and the relationships you establish, the confidence you build, the culture you want to help instill.”
