Nashville – It is a week busy for the titans of Tennessee.
The draft of the NFL gives a kick Thursday to Green Bay, and the Titans should start with the first overall choice.
In addition, this week in Nashville, the Titans will start their off -season program on Tuesday, when the players return to the Sports Park ascension Saint Thomas.
The entire off-season program is voluntary, with the exception of the Mini-Camp, which is compulsory.
Earlier this offseason, coach Brian Callahan discussed what he will focus on this off -season.
“I learned a lot and I will change a handful of things,” said Callahan, thinking about the team’s arrival 3-14 in 2024. “I am really excited by some of the things we are going to do (during the off-season), how we are going to do it.
“Much more clarity in training what matters, things that help win football matches. And I’m excited about it. I’m really looking forward to starting.”
The first day of organized team activities (OTA) is scheduled for May 27, and the Final OTA is scheduled for June 5. The Titans will organize six ota (27, 28, 30 May; 2, 3, 5, 5) during this two -week section before a three -day minicamp, which is scheduled for June 10 to 12.
The team will also have a minicamp recruited at the beginning of next month.
The team’s off -season program will end on June 12 for veterans.
Although Callahan said that there will be no spectacular changes for the structure of practice during the offseason, he plans to implement new ideas and philosophies that will wear off -season in the training camp.
He thinks that this will lead to better out -of -season work results.
“When you look at how our football matches took place (in 2024), you have to find ways to remove the ball and not return it,” said Callahan when he asked him to “train what matters”. “You must find ways not to be in the top five in penalties. We have fell too often, self-inflicted and negative parts, is a large part of the place where we have to improve.
“And that has nothing to do with the list – these are things that we can control, that we have to do a better job, and it starts with me, and how we go about this process, how we measure it and how we coach it. These things will be a fairly important focal point.”
