The Ravens have placed a tent for the first year worth $ 3.3 million in Washington March 12. Essentially, the call for tenders was a one -year contract which always allowed Washington to speak with other teams, but if a team had signed it on a tender sheet, the Ravens would have the possibility of corresponding this offer and to keep it.
It was actually slightly risky for Ravens to do so. If they had used a tender in the second round – a more precious tender which also allowed the Ravens to be a second round choice if he had left – in Washington, they could have dissuade almost any outside interest.
The risk has borne fruit, however, because Washington did not sign a tender sheet before the deadline on Friday. This meant that he was definitely playing for the Ravens in 2025, he just had to put pen on paper.
A former free -draft free agent of TCU, Washington only played eight games in his first three seasons, but was significantly exploding last season. The 25 -year -old started the last 10 games of the season, recording 64 plated in total, eight defended passes, two interceptions and a forced escape.
It was a key element in the defensive reversal of the Ravens, because after replacing Marcus Williams in the initial training, the defense went from one of the worst of the league against the pass to one of the best.
Washington is expected to start again in front of Kyle Hamilton, and even if the Ravens are added to their safety group at the NFL of this week, Washington will be a key player once again.
