The Steelers OC Arthur Smith explains to everyone why Kaleb Johnson was the choice with only 3 words

When Pittsburgh Steelers I went to the counter of the third round of the NFL 2025 draft, analysts of television programs were shouting from the roofs so that the Steelers select the old quarter of Colorado Shemer Sanders. However, the Steelers did not pay attention to this. Instead, the Steelers stayed in terms of plan and used their third round choice on the former Iowa ball carrier, Kaleb Johnson.

After the choice, Pittsburgh’s offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith, addressed the media and, with only three words, explained exactly why Johnson was the choice and perhaps why Sanders was not. Smith said he was a “big culture” in reference to Johnson. This follows the head coach Mike Tomlin noting that the choice of first round Derrick Harmon had “Steelers DNA”, which made him too good to pass.

It is clear that the steelers look hard at the character and adapt to team culture and work to avoid players who could potentially be distractions and not put the team first. Is it Sanders? It is not for us to say it, but we can say that with four choices on Sunday, we expect the Steelers to continue to look for guys of high character and who correspond to the team to more ways than their skills on the ground.
