Have a question about Texans?
Life in general?
Drew Dougherty is your man.
He’s been with the Texans since 2009 and is full of useful, but also generally useless, information. Click to learn more HERE.
*Ken Depew: Dear Drew, longtime fan, first time caller. Coach Ryans is right in his comments about fixing all the penalties. We can only imagine the “what ifs” that could have happened if the team hadn’t had some of those plays overturned due to holds or false starts. How do the Texans stop all the false starts and illegal formations (tackles placed too far from the line)?*DD: Thanks for the question, Ken. DeMeco Ryans has been emphatic about the need to correct some of Minnesota’s costly mistakes, and has made no excuses.
“We teach the right way to play and that’s all that matters,” Ryans said. “When you step on the field, you play the right way. Whatever they call it, they call it. It doesn’t really matter. I don’t want players to worry about what the refs call it. You have to play your technique the right way and that’s all that matters.”
There are different ways to correct mistakes, and having referees at practice is just one example the Texans could use this week and again in the future.
***Ken, your question is the winning question in this week’s Texas scratch-off lottery. Someone from the organization will be contacting you about it soon.***
Billy Bishop: Dear Drew, how is Joe Mixon? Will he be ready to play this Sunday?
DD: We’ll see. He didn’t practice at all last week and didn’t travel to Minnesota for the game. The Texans are back on the practice field today and the injury report that will be released at 3 p.m. CT will give us a better idea of his availability Sunday.
Ariel Alameda: Dear Drew, how soon will we know which jerseys will be worn at each game to give fans enough time to prepare their outfits?
DD: Thursday of game week, the Texans reveal the uniform combination they will wear for the next game
