ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — There was some confusion on the sidelines after Buffalo Bills center Connor McGovern left and then attempted to re-enter Sunday night’s game in Baltimore against the Ravens.
McGovern was pulled about six minutes into the game. He followed the coaches to a secondary tent to be examined for a possible concussion.
Invoices announced on social networks that McGovern, making his fifth career start at center, was cleared to return. But when he tried to return to the field five minutes later, the referees stopped him.
It was a moment that confused some viewers at home and at M&T Bank Stadium. McGovern was quickly allowed back on the field as Buffalo attempted to erase a deficit early in the first half, following an 87-yard touchdown run and a 5-yard touchdown run by Ravens running back Derrick Henry.
Connor McGovern keeps trying to get in the game and the refs won’t let him.
Very strange.#Invoices

Later in the first half, Bills safety Taylor Rapp left the game to be evaluated for a head injury. It was determined that he suffered a concussion and would not return to the game.
