The Indianapolis Colts gained momentum with an impressive 27-24 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4. However, victory did not come without sacrifice. Anthony Richardson and Jonathan Taylor were listed on the Colts’ injury report Monday after suffering injuries Sunday. Still, their projected statuses for Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars don’t indicate anything too serious.
Anthony Richardson left Sunday’s game in pain, but he is considered on a daily basis with oblique and abdominal strains and has a chance to play against the Jaguars, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports.
Additionally, Jonathan Taylor suffered a mild ankle sprain and will also be be evaluated throughout the weekadded Pelissero.
Richardson had 71 yards on 3-of-4 passing before leaving Sunday’s game against the Steelers. Meanwhile, Taylor totaled 88 yards and a touchdown on the day. Hopefully both will have a safe and effective recovery.
Despite the struggles of Richardson and Taylor, Indianapolis found a way to pull out a victory. The Colts only had 358 yards of total offense, compared to 404 yards for the Steelers. Nonetheless, Indy’s defense held strong. They totaled four sacks against Pittsburgh and forced fumbles. Linebacker EJ Speed had an outstanding day with 12 solo tackles and an assist.
Indianapolis looks to continue its momentum in its next game against the Jaguars. Hopefully by then, the Colts’ injury toll will be lighter.
