PITTSBURGH (WKBN) — Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said the team is preparing to face the Dallas Cowboys with Justin Fields starting for a fifth straight game.
Meanwhile, Russell Wilson continues to recover from calf issues that caused him to miss the first four games.
Tomlin said Wilson was in an intense practice Tuesday and may take a more active approach to practice as the week goes on.
“It looks like he (Wilson) is in a place where his participation is going to pay off a little bit in terms of coaching in a live pocket. We won’t draw too many conclusions, but we’ll just start this process, and we’ll look at it day by day, evaluate his ability to move and function and protect himself, and obviously, evaluate his productivity level. » said Tomlin.
In four starts this season, Fields has accumulated 830 passing yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He also had 145 yards and three touchdowns.
The Steelers host the Cowboys on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. at Acrisure Stadium.
