The interior offensive lineman also scored a big victory on social media, as the story of him standing up to a bully during his high school years went viral on TikTok.
It all started with a video shared by Peyton Morris which caught the attention of Lions fans. His message showed David MontgomeryThe opening touchdown of the game, followed by a close-up of his face with the following caption:

Naturally, this left Lions fans wondering which player Morris was referring to. The video has been viewed over a million times, prompting her to make a follow-up video this revealed that it was in fact Awosika, as at least one astute commenter had guessed.
Morris went on to clarify that she attended middle and high school with Awosika and did not expect him to defend her.
“I wasn’t popular,” she says. “He was one of the star players on the football team and the basketball team, and he had no reason to need to be nice to me. But he was. C That’s exactly the kind of person he is.”
Morris did not provide details on the specifics of the situation, but went on to say that she is reportedly a longtime fan of Awosika. She also said she was “excited” to see him play on “Monday Night Football” against the Seahawks.
“It makes me so happy when good things happen to good people,” she said. “He deserves all the success and I will always support him.”
Awosika, 25, broke into the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent to Buffalo in 2021. He joined the Lions in 2022 and has appeared in 29 games (six starts) since arriving in Detroit.
