The Philadelphia Eagles will get a much-needed break in Week 5.
Philadelphia is 2-2 on the young season and, fortunately, finds itself on the outside looking in when Week 5 begins Sunday afternoon. The Eagles haven’t been healthy in recent weeks, and their bye week couldn’t have come at a better time.
The Eagles are one of four teams missing in Week 5. Philadelphia is joined by the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers and Tennessee Titans.
Philadelphia will return to action in Week 6 on Sunday, October 13 at 1 p.m. ET at home at Lincoln Financial Field against the Cleveland Browns.
The Eagles are missing some key pieces and could gain some back for their Week 6 matchup with Cleveland. There is a realistic possibility that AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith could return to help shore up the offense. Smith is dealing with a concussion and Brown is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Another player to watch is five-time Pro Bowler Lane Johnson. He also suffered a concussion and was progressing in his recovery.
It’s good that the Eagles are getting early time off so they can recover from these serious injuries. But with no match scheduled this week, the discussions were out of the ordinary. The Eagles are 2-2 but will be fine. Injuries are the main reason for the Eagles’ loss, and they should get some reinforcements. There were even talks about becoming a head coach, but that didn’t happen.
The Eagles won’t play Sunday but will be back soon.
