When safety Jamal Adams signed with the Tennessee Titans during the offseason, it was assumed he would play a fairly large role, especially considering the team’s need for more options at the position.
However, after four games, things didn’t go the way Adams hoped. The veteran safety only played 20 snaps in the three contests he played, including just two in Week 3 and one in Week 4.
On Saturday, the Titans placed Adams, who was on the injury report with a hip issue, at reserve/non-football injury listwhich indicates that his injury was sustained outside of football.
Regardless, Adams is reportedly unhappy with the Titans due to his nonexistent role, according to ESPN’s Turron Davenport.
“Titans safety Jamal Adams has been frustrated with the lack of playing time,” he reported. “Playing only one snap on (Monday Night Football) against the Dolphins really bothered him according to a source. Adams felt he could contribute and was OK with a non-starting role. He just wanted a chance to help the team.”
Adams’ dissatisfaction with his team isn’t new, as it’s something we’ve seen from him throughout his career. The fact that this situation played out this way is the least surprising thing considering its very limited shots.
After signing with the Titans, Adams seemed to have a decent role, but his opportunity to play took a big hit when Tennessee signed their former player. Seattle Seahawks his teammate and fellow safety Quandre Diggs.
If the Titans truly believed Adams could be a difference maker, he would play more. Obviously, they don’t think highly of him at this point in his career, for one reason or another.
After being placed on the NFI list and with Adams’ displeasure, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this couple is headed for divorce.
