Matt Eberflus questions whether or not he was the right man to usher in the Caleb Williams era after two lackluster seasons in Chicago with Justin Fields. Things have been mixed so far in 2024, but Williams has shown plenty of flashes to keep the pressure on the head coach.
What stimulates Eberflus is the defensive background of the coach, who transformed the Bear defensive unit into one of the fiercest defensive teams in football.
This will pose a difficult challenge for the Jaguarwho have struggled on the offensive side of the ball under Doug Pederson this season. Trevor Lawrence has drawn some criticism for failing to live up to his gaudy new contract, but perhaps more has been aimed at the head coach, who has yet to get the Jags out of the muck and quagmire.
