ORCHARD PARK — The Tennessee Titans aren’t a team that deserves much attention even when they’re good, much less when they’re 1-4 to start the 2024 season.
However, they have the full attention of Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, because on Sunday afternoon, when the Bills return to Highmark Stadium for the first time in nearly a month to host the Titans, they will face one of the best defenses in the NFL.

What’s lost in their record is the fact that while their offense is corrective at best, the Titans’ defense ranks first in the NFL in fewest total yards per game (248.0), yards per play (4.3) and passing yards (137.0). .
Now, it should be noted that they played Caleb Williams of the Bears making his NFL debut in Week 1, Malik Willis instead of Jordan Love in Week 3 against the Packers, Tyler Huntley instead of Tua Tagovailoa in in Week 4 against the Dolphins, and then the Colts’ aging Joe Flacco last week.
Still, the Titans’ best players are on the defensive side of the ball, and the Bills offense, even with the addition of wide receiver Amari Cooper, is still trying to figure things out in the passing game.
“We had the best defense in the NFL at home on a short week and we have to be ready to go, and so it’s not easy,” Brady said. “Those are the weeks where you just have to trust your players and rely on not having to do anything different than what it should be and trust that they are the team #1 or the 32nd team, we have to control what we can control and go out and play in our execution and our details.
