Another day, another set of reps for Kamari Lassiter.
THE Houston Texans The rookie cornerback once again participated on a limited basis in Thursday’s practice in preparation for Sunday’s home game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Lassiter, the Texans’ second-round pick out of Georgia, suffered a fractured scapula, a rare football injury involving the back of the shoulder blade suffered during an offensive pass interference infraction against the Bills from Buffalo. He’s missed the last two games, but practice is a promising sign.
Things could be on the downside for linebacker Henry To’oTo’o, however. After returning to practice as a limited participant Wednesday, the second-year starter returned to the injury report.
He didn’t play last week and might not be cleared after taking a step back.
Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) and defensive back Jimmie Ward (groin) missed practice for the fifth straight day. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 SportsWard is expected to miss his third straight game due to injury.
Rookie Calen Bullock, who threw his third interception in Week 7, is expected to start opposite Eric Murray.
Al-Shaair, who left in Week 6 during the third quarter, could be a game-time decision. Earlier Wednesday, Houston placed former first-round pick Devin White on the active roster for depth purposes.
Both receivers Robert Woods (foot) and Steven Sims (back) were back during drills during Thursday’s practice. Woods, who was limited, has not played since the Week 5 win over the Buffalo Bills.
Sims, who was a late addition to the injury report last week, is expected to be ready to compete in the home game.
Defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil returned to full capacity and are not expected to miss any overtime. Backup cornerback D’Angelo Ross, who started in place of Lassiter last weekend, was out due to illness.
Here’s a look at the Texans and Colts injury report after Wednesday’s practice. With a win on Sunday, the Texans would finish with at least a .500 division record for 2024.
