Houston Texans left guard Kenyon Green suffered a season-ending shoulder injury during Thursday night’s loss to the New York Jets, NFL Network reported Friday.
Green left the Texans’ 21-13 road loss in the second quarter after attempting to block Jets star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. He went to the sideline medical tent then to the locker room for an x-ray before being sent off.
It’s another blow for Green, a first-round pick (15th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft, who missed the entire 2023 season with a shoulder injury (torn labrum) suffered during the pre-season.
Green, 23, started the first nine games this season for Houston (6-3). He started 14 of his 15 appearances during his 2022 rookie campaign.
Kendrick Green replaced Kenyon Green on Thursday.
