The Denver Broncos had a tremendous rookie season with first-round pick Bo Nix and that early success could convince the team to move on from one of their other quarterbacks.
Nix is the guy the team has been waiting for for years and the Broncos must be thrilled with the way he has played. When the 53-man rosters were finalized after the preseason, the Broncos opted to hang on to Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson. There have been several thoughts regarding this decision. The Broncos would have a veteran presence to help them if Nix struggled or they would have an option for a team in desperation mode that could offer some value in a trade, rather than cutting them and getting nothing in return.
By doing a little bold predictions Ahead of the November 5 trade deadline, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox sees the second scenario playing out and the desperate team, in this case, being the Tennessee Titans.
Knox predicts the Titans will end the Will Levis era and could take a chance on former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson. He mentions other young quarterbacks Trey Lance, Mac Jones and Bryce Young who could also be under consideration.
Wilson failed miserably with the New York Jets, but the Broncos traded him this offseason and he put together a solid summer. Broncos coach Sean Payton seems to believe there is a place for Wilson in the league, but with Nix playing the way he has, it won’t be in Denver, at least not as a starter.
Tennessee Titans could trade for Broncos’ Zach Wilson in anticipation
Have the Titans seen enough of Lévis? Knox seems to think so. Mason Rudolph is there to keep the boat afloat for now, but he’s not a long-term option. If Wilson were to be brought to Tennessee via trade, it probably wouldn’t cost much more than a third-day pick (if the Broncos could get a fifth-rounder, they’d get back more than they gave up) and he’d probably be given the keys as starter for the rest of the season.
A situation like this would be exactly what Wilson should be looking for to revitalize his career. This would be a great deal for the Broncos and would add another draft pick to their 2025 cache.
This would make sense for the Broncos unless they view Wilson as Nix’s long-term replacement. That’s unlikely to happen, as teams around the league will be willing to see if they can get more out of the once-promising Wilson than the Jets ever did, meaning the Broncos will continue to receive offers for him.
One of those deals could come before Tuesday.
